| Poetry Bridge

For all of us "Poetry Bridge" was a very special project. First of all because it allowed our troup to work with amazing poetry of two contemporary Russian poets, Oleg Afanasiev and David Kudikov; and secondly to bring their word to a wider audience in London. It also gave us a rare opportunity to work with our colleagues from Tomsk, Olga Kalinina-Sulakshina, actress and a gallery owner; Leontij Usov, internationally renowned sculptor and actor and Roman Dvaladze, art photographer. "Poetry Bridge" became our first international project.
It was a blessing and a challenge to work with the medium of poetry on stage. That particular medium does not forgive mistakes and always has to be handled with extra sensitivity. Poet David Kudikov who was reading his poetry together with our actors made his first bold steps as an actor himself, while we had to make similar steps as interpreters of his and Afanasiev's poetical worlds. This show clearly touched the audience and we heard many kind words after the performance. "Poetry Bridge" should, and will, be played again.
